Edited by: Blade Durrant on 05/01/2004 14:58:00 Why are so many frigging posts decrying the death of EVE due to Castor? Personally I think it is a great patch, and while many decry the death of solo-play, quite frankly, I see Castor as much more of a solo-play help than it was with Gemini. Now it is easily possible for the solo-player to get into that BS they always dream about. For example, I could refine all my tech 2 components and get roughly 5000 mega + other materials. And thats a little over a week's worth of agent missions. However im gonna hold on to mine for my corp. And the 5000+ people i see on every night certainly isnt any indication of a declining player base. Sure Castor made middle ground NPC spawns harder to come by. And 0.0 is rightfully the incredibly dangerous place it should be. Yes there are some bugs and problems, but lets face it, with 5000+ people playing the game, alot of players obviously like the patch, otherwise they wouldnt be playing. All this useless whining about CCP not listening to its players is a load of crap. Players were complaining pre-castor that 0.0 was too easy, and tech 2 needs to come out. And you know what. CCP implemented those fixes. I just think that some people are chronic complainers who need to find something better to do with their lives. While some critism is constructive, at certain points (which i feel have been more than reached) it becomes unconstructive. Instead of complaining about Castor has ruined EVE, how bout trying out all the new functions and figuring out that Castor isnt as bad as you think it is. Sure the 25km spawn in thing needs to be addressed, and there are a few balancing issues that need to be done, but what MMORPG doesnt have that issue. I believe the EVE universe is headed in the right direction, and i hope to see more continuance by CCP to realize what they are trying to achieve. Some people might not like it, but thats there problem. Although i do think we need to get the megacorps outta the n00b systems and leave something other than veldspar for the n00bs to mine. While, yes there are some problems that need addressing, when you get down to it, Castor was much needed for EVE.
